Matilda Banfield (St Hilda’s Alumni & former IGSSA AFL All-Star) has been locked in as a Rookie Signing with Fremantle Football Club ahead of the 2025 season. Tilly, an exceptional All-Round athlete was Sports Captain at her school and represented St Hilda’s in the IGSSA sports of AFL, Swimming, Volleyball, X-Country, Hockey, Athletics, Basketball, Tennis, Softball, Soccer and Waterpolo throughout her years at St Hilda’s, all whilst pursuing an Elite Hockey pathway outside of school. This is a phenomenal achievement in itself! Tilly was introduced to AFL through her school when the AFL competition in IGSSA was in the ‘informal’ developmental stage (2020/2021), before becoming a formal competition sport in 2022.
